Yeah, this is... something. A very silly premise with a couple great scenes.

The thing that really bugs me: Was there any in-universe reason for Gabriel's ability to control electricity? Or was it just a convenient way to give him a voice and set up some spooky lighting?

 

Loved this. The third act is wild

 

How did Gabriel call the cops when Madison was sitting right in front of them? Did I miss something?

 

That was his ability to broadcast his thoughts or whatever. The same way he talked to young Maddie on her toy phone and called her phone after one of the kills.

 

Thought this was fantastic, had a lot of fun. Especially in the last 30

 

Alright I’m excited again

 

I went into this expecting another Insidious type thing and I was so pleasantly surprised. This is a kind of movie you might see on Shudder or something but rarely in theatrical release

 

Haha what the fuck, not what I was expecting at all thankfully; definitely flawed with tons of issues but so ridiculous and had a blast

 

Well this was definitely not for me. Really lost me in the second half and I was just laughing at the absurdity of this whole thing at that point. Some really strange choices that just left me confused as hell about what I watched too.

 

I laughed hard at every heavy handed “Where Is My Mind?” synth drop.

 

This movie was bonkos and I didn’t really like it but uh yeah, the end is absurd.

 

Loved this. What a bonkers movie.

 

This was wild ha. Really dug it. Pleasantly surprised because the trailer made it look a lot more generic than it ended up being.

 

Really enjoyed this, felt like Wan letting his hair down after doing sequels and blockbusters.

 

I LOOOOOVED this. Just fucking bonkers from minute one.

 

Haha, I had a feeling you’d be into it.

 

It’s funny when you’re so ready for something as terrifying as the conjuring or insidious and one minute in you’re like “oh NOPE this is something else”

 

I read the plot for this on Wikipedia because I wasn't interested in seeing the movie but still wanted to know what everyone was going nuts over.

I had to follow up with reading TV Tropes and then another separate article just to understand what the hell it was I read.

What the everloving fuck.

 

lmao yup that's pretty much the experience of watching it too

 

Even if you don’t like this, I can’t imagine anyone ever being bored during it.

PLEASE give us more mainstream Hollywood releases that go this hard.
