Finished. This was about as perfect as a sitcom revival could possibly be. All 4 episodes gave me multiple long chuckles.
I know they said that's It, but they left enough bones for a whole full new show. I want more Leah and Kelly.
Watching this led to some great conversations with my kids. They asked about non-binary folks and I even had a great discussion with my two older kids about the boy from Leah's school being a creep. It kind of reminded me of my parents talking about smoking when I watched the original with them.
Cranston is so insanely good at physical comedy. 90% of my big laughs from this came from him. The tripping scene was wild lol
I see a lot of complaints that Hal's trip scenes went on for way too long but damn I thought it was so funny that I really don't care because I got to see the funniest person in the show be an absolute maniac lol
Wow. This was so good. The cast of this show is already pretty stuff, but they somehow managed to fit in multiple new characters fairly seamlessly. Kelly's part in the final episode actually started to make me tear up, and the fact that they were able to do that with a character we had only known for three episodes is pretty incredible. Both of the younger siblings (Kelly and Jamie) are so believable as belonging to that family in the short time we see them.
I wish they did more with Leah and Kelly being friends, but I get they only had so much time. The aunt/niece around the same age but are friends dynamic would be so good in a full season show.
Tbh I didn't really care for Jamie at all but he was such a minor part of the show that I really don't care. Kelly was great though.
The Hal drug trip went on too long and Malcolm was annoying the whole time but otherwise I liked it a lot!
The Hal stuff was the only part my mom didn't like. I was surprised she didn't say anything weird about the nonbinary character. I think you're right, the drug stuff did go on way too long. It was great to see Ritchie though
