Man, I was thinking I might get a box of double masters but so many of those mythics are absolute garbage. Yuck.
Sometimes I think I want to do an in-person draft again at a random FNM, but I have no friends and forget that the MTG playing crowd isn't always the most uh, amiable.
I’ve done that a few times and there is almost always someone who is a complete asshole. I once showed up to a modern tournament in SF with turns and some dude loudly groaned that my deck was stupid and asked why I was playing it as I proceeded to beat him. I didn’t say a word. Hate that shit.
Omg this is reminding me of this dude who would fly off the handle at my LGS back in Seattle. My friend told me he beat him in a match and the guy yelled "fuck you and the horse you rode in on!" to his own deck and threw it across the room. I actually played him in another tournament and he did the same thing, screaming at his deck "why are you doing this to me??" I probably shouldn't have handed him the match slip to sign, the guy clearly had issues
it's hilarious when you summon something that immediately dies at the end of the turn. I'm like wait I didn't even get to read the card lol
I get that they're pushing Alchemy hard, but man I just cannot get into it. The mechanics are suited for a digital only environment and it's still weird as hell to me.
Some new Dominaria cards were spoiled on the Twitch stream yesterday. Too lazy to post individual pics but there's a new Jaya PW card: Double Masters 2022 | 2X2 Visual Spoiler | MythicSpoiler
Baldur's Gate draft is a lot of fun! Did three drafts in green/white with two losses in each. Did my last draft in blue/white and got swept lol.
I can't bring myself to care about Alchemy tbh. I hate the digital-only effects like conjuring/seeking/spellbooks/perpetual costs/etc. Too many words and gimmicks. Also the new Historic and Explorer Anthologies drop today. The Historic one is an absolute miss but Explorer got Kalitas, Elvish Mystic, Supreme Verdict, and Mausoleum Wanderer - the latter of which will go right into my spirits deck.
Its annoying, but once you see it in action it feels pretty seamless. The card that perpetually gives your creatures -1/-1 each turn is a god damn nightmare.
I want to tinker more with Brawl but I suck at coming up with lists and always get matched against the most annoying commanders. Jetmir does sounds fun tho, maybe I'll give that a try.
