A landfall event, every time a land enters the battlefield under your control you reveal the top card of your library and it triggers an effect. If it's a land, it goes into your hand. If it's a creature, you create a 1/1 Plant token and the creature goes to the bottom of your library. If it's anything else, your opponent loses a life and you gain a life...and it goes to the bottom of your library. It's basically a bunch of Cavalcade red and Field of the Dead decks.
planning to buy some standard pieces before the rotation, do you have any suggestions on what are good grabs and what are really cheap rn? so far i have: absorb, enter the god eternals, 1-2 kefnet, some copies of the god eternals considering: playset of Nicol Bolas
It's kind of a weird time because rotation is in a little over a month and the top two decks (Vampires, Scapeshift) will no longer exist. Mono blue will die as well, along with the Kethis combo since it loses Mox Amber and Excavator. I think Dimir/Esper decks are well positioned andw remain strong. Elementals are basically untouched by rotation and Cavalcade red can be a cheap and solid pickup and it survives rotation. Here's an article on that archetype: Budget Magic: $71 Rotation-Proof Mono-Red Cavalcade (Standard, Magic Arena)
Three Cheap, Rotation-Proof Standard Decks i’ll prob just grab stuff that i wanted for my collection. also What the Deck might be my fav casual magic series atm. Kibler and Day9 banters are so fun to watch, with Reid Duke streams being my fav standard
Simic Flash has completely fallen off, but I do think it will do better after rotation. Feather loses the Reckless Rage engine but other than that it stays pretty much intact and should still be strong.
i agree with elementals still being a thing. hydroid and tamiyo are probably going to make UGx relevant until next rotation
also Sorcery - Adventure thinking out loud that 3 drop will work in any tokens deck. thinking of selesnya since that archetype might still be viable in standard. but a vanilla 5/5 might not even be good enough. if it had trample it would be a different story
yeah I quite like the weirdness of it. Also looks like Knight tribal will be a thing. Get those Knight of the Ebon Legions now!
Ugh, back to Zendikar again next year? Theros is cool I guess. Hopefully Elspeth is slated for a return.
