same, it will be the first time in a year that I'll be playing

 

I’ve been thinking about attending a PR since Origins but this is the only time I actually really wanted to do it.

 

man, Origins was what finally broke me into playing Standard casually. I was in love with the U/R Ensoul Artifact deck and did quite well at FNM with it for as long as it was legal. Once M15 rotated out, I never found another deck I enjoyed as much as that one.

 

It's going to take a couple of sets to get me back into standard, or even buying new product, after all the shanigans over the past couple of years. Been all about modern and a new battlebox I recently built, which is such a great format.

 

Modern is more expensive for new players, right? I always thought that modern is one big purchase, as opposed to standard which are small purchases over the span of a year but that might be just locally.

 

It certainly can be more expensive, especially for tier 1 decks, but there are plenty of budget decks that you can have a blast with. Check it out:

the art and the flavor text for the new lightning bolt and counterspell are amusing.

 

too bad there's already the drama because that card is only available as a buy a box promo
