Sorry for the double post, but does anyone speculate? I play around a little bit in paper but I've been getting into it on MTGO, it's pretty easy honestly, especially on MTGO.

 

I'm not. I just converted it to USD, haha. But yeah I've been checking prices from other shops but they seem to have the same rates.

I guess that's fine, I'm still also paying for a service after all. And the uncommon cards in these set look really, really good so far.

 

What do you mean speculate? I might be doing that without knowing what it is, so I had to ask haha.

 

I would get them if you a pretty dedicated Standard player, otherwise I would (personally) draft and if you are collecting them, buy the ones you need.

I follow standard (don't play it) but this always intimated me. How'd you start?

 

The longer you play and the more you pay attention, you'll notice a lot of trends. For example, since we're losing two sets of Standard lands (like in most rotations, plus creature lands) - underplayed lands will go up. The current example is the AMK lands, but it's happened to the Theros temples and the Shadow over Innistrad lands. Thought to be honest, you're looking at cards from .60-1.8 to go from 2-4.

Also, the more expensive cards just fluctuate a lot, for no real determinable reason, and that's easy money.

Anyway - most of the websites that give that advice pay, but there's a subreddit called mtgfinance that is okay.

 

One of my friends bought like 8 Honored Hierarchs back when Origins was out "just in case" it went up in price lol

Think my next deck will be an Elf deck. Some gnarly synergy there. My dragons deck seems about finished. Could use a little bit more lifegain against my friend's black/white gain/drain deck.

 

One of my best friends always ran an elf deck that was obnoxious as shit, and this was a big reason why. Run 4 of them lol

Playtesting, I can pretty much drop Herald of Anguish consistently, the problem is early game. Don't seem to have a lot of answers to rush. Yahenni's Expertise could be good but it ruins my other creatures.

 

FYI - Fatal Push is probably at it's all time low soon/rn, FNM Promo is out and that helps. It's a multi format staple too, something to consider.
