Stoked about the set changes - bummed about the Marvel ban (for obvious reasons). I still think banning Ulamog was the better option, but I guess I'll take the ban as them again admitting that they simply don't agree with a mechanic that they themselves created? Marvel is a card made to do broken things in a format that generates a ton of energy...I just kinda feel like it's a cop out to just get rid of it entirely because it, well, does what it's supposed to do.

I've been backing away from Magic a bit again due to the anticipation of the ban either way, just feeling my confidence in standard dwindling and kind of trying to avoid spending money in the format for the time being, at least until after the next Pro Tour.

regarding the magic stigma talk i've still sort of hidden my magic passion from my friends but i've begun to feel more able to be open about it, i'm just too selfconscious sometimes haha

When we moved to a new city my wife got asked by one of our new mutual friends as to why I was never around on Friday nights and for some reason she blurted out "oh, he's...MMA fighting." For some reason said friend legitimately believed it (even though it was intended as a joke) and that just became code word for Friday Night Magic until I was just like "...wait, you actually thought that was what I was doing?"

No one has ever like mocked me for my Magic playing or anything so I guess that's cool, but I can't say I haven't expected to be made fun of by certain groups of people, haha.

I kinda love that card.

 

there won't be much horse support, the reason they're able to make a lord that powerful is because it's not a very well supported tribe so there's less chance of things being incredibly broken

prereleasing this morning, we'll see how it goes. not too much i'm excited about but if i draft a god i might need to make a commander deck around it
