Packed a foil Nissa, I'm walking on sunshine

 

Went from "no more standard" to "well, ok, I guess I'll play standard" (I've been on this back and forth loop for the past few months lol) so I'm trying to see if I wanna stick with Temur Dynavolt or move to Temur Aetherworks. The latter seems to have a solid matchup against BG Delirium which I can guess will be back on the rise.

I still have all my cards. Man, I loved Magic. I have a ton of Angel type cards. I got really into collecting certain ones like that and elementals and stuff.

 

Ended up moving to Temur Aetherworks after a bad weekend of FNM/Standard showdown on Dynavolt - deck got crushed by basically everything (when it was doing really well before). After PT...I'm doubly glad I did (for performance and price purposes). Interested in the Flamecaller iteration - already had her as a one-of in the side from my Dynavolt list, but seeing her as a playset in the Muller list looks wild.

 

Entered a AKH Limited Champion Qualifier on MTGO - I'll post my pool if anyone's interested.

 

I'm also in said Limited Qualifier.

 

Big announcements today by the way. Starting in 2018 they are changing the way sets work again. 3 big sets a year, no more small sets. With the return of a core type set in the summer.

 

What's up boiiii! I've been wanting to play in one but haven't been able, did a couple of phantom sealed leagues...we will see!

 

Yeah, i've been doing a lot of sealed practice for Vegas later this week.

i'd love to do some more competitive limited stuff, i feel i'm a pretty good limited player and i'd love to see how i could do in a bigger setting

 

Why would anyone play standard at this point?

 

cheaper than modern

also without marvel in the format it's likely a pretty good format

also standard is nice to allow some different cards to impact the game that wouldn't do anything in modern, it's a different style of gameplay. my biggest problem with modern (though the format is fantastic right now) is that you're almost forced to use the top tier of powerful cards because if you don't use them your decks are suffering

 

Modern decks don't get banned on whim like this. This is the third consecutive announcement which effectively bans the top deck in the format. And you can invest in decent sub $300 modern decks no problem.

I see the format reverting back to Gideon and HoK dominating again. Hope I'm wrong.

 

gideon at least rotates out in a few months.

this is a bad era of standard but wizards has made it seem like that going forward they're shifting things up

 

I am actually pretty stoked on the changes they have planned.

Seems like I picked a good time to not play Standard...haven't picked up the game since Kaladesh Game Day way back in January. Actually had a dream last night that I went to FNM and I had no clue what any of the cards did lol

Wizards just can't seem to get artifact blocks right.

 

Gonna look into this. SOMEONE should have said something in there already about it.

 

The guy just made on comment, but on top of all the other mean spirited stuff in there it just stung. Jason played it off with "I played magic. Magic is cool." But it just sucks. That thread was so mean and harsh during the finals. Every time I tried to make a valid point someone just said something dickish.
