Single is out Friday

 

So the single is actually out next week. She had originally posted on TikTok in response to someone asking about the song that we would hear more on Friday, leading people to believe it was coming out today but no, she is now saying it’s out next week. She did post a longer snippet of the song today though.

Honestly confused why there wasn’t a song with the album announcement. That seems super strange.

It’s real strange to announce your album then not have the single come out until over a week later, when it’s already a four month wait for the entire record. Not sure what the thought process here is.

 

While I don't personally think it's the best move for an artist specifically of her size, but what it does it creates multiple moments and events for engagement.

 

Yeah, 4 months is a loooong time for a roll out. I hope this isn’t one of those you’re gonna hear half the album before it’s out situations

 

I just don’t think this is doing her any favors in the long run. She’s been pretty quiet during the pandemic and hasn’t really grown in popularity like a Phoebe Bridgers or Japanese Breakfast has. While she definitely had a solid campaign with her debut, and played/sold out some sizable venues, I don’t think she is at the level where this long drawn out rollout is necessary.

 

This album has had the longest rollout of all time.

 

I mean with four months, it would be pretty cool if halfway through the album rollout she announces another album/that one’s release date

 

while it sucks for fans, charli xcx just had a 6+ month roll out and it gave her the best sales of her career

 

Is the assumption that the longer rollout is due to vinyl shortages?

 

I’m assuming 4 month roll out means there’s gonna be 4 or more singles released leading up to the release
