Don't love getting the closer as a single, but I'm excited for the album!

Really pumped to get new music from her. Not overly into this song initially but most of her stuff grows on me over time.

I don't want to be rude, but I think her voice sounds absolutely terrible in the chorus

Loved this one live, but it really feels like it’s lacking the same energy and emotion here.

also I'm ashamed to admit i never checked out her last album, how did it stack up against her debut (which i absolutely love)

I didn't really like it all that much, especially if you compare to the debut

I like it significantly more than the first album, and I really like the first album.

I think she’s doing such impressive things vocally on that album, and it makes the songs so much more dynamic and exciting. I adore about two thirds of the songs on the debut and find the other third to be kiiiind of boring.

I think I've said it in here before but there's a few tracks that I truly think she sounds gawdawful vocally and the others, I've never heard what you hear. Plus most of the songs just kinda suck, sorry!!

I was not really a fan of Surrender when it came out, but seeing her perform those songs live last summer made me realize how wrong I was. Album is great.

You are objectively wrong about her vocals, but ok.

You'll never convince me Horses is any good

I just feel like the songs on Surrender rely way less on repetition and actually build to interesting places. The crescendos on songs like “Shatter” and “Anywhere with You” are so satisfying to me. Even the songs on the first album that I really like are nowhere near as invigorating.

I don't think we're going to see eye to eye here because I find "Shatter" so dull

Team Surrender. Love both albums but Surrender just hits harder for me. Like Craig said, the vocals have a little more going on, less like she’s trying to nail every note and more like she’s just going to let out the pure emotion. But yea… I alway wouldn’t say there’s any part where she sounds bad. Her voice still sounds incredible throughout.
