anyone having trouble downloading the experiential album? it's supposed to be available today, but i keep getting an empty zip file.
Haven't seen people talk about the album much since it came out. What are people's thoughts after a couple weeks? For me I lean positive on it but it's not quite the triumphant comeback that the first couple singles indicated it might be. They definitely saved the best for first haha.
There's another thread in Article Discussion that has more recent opinions. The majority feel it's a grower for sure. Mae - Multisensory Aesthetic Experience (November 30, 2018) • forum.chorus.fm
Mae - Singularity 2xLP First time Singularity has ever been pressed on vinyl! Two pressings, each out of 750.
I know Singularity is widely considered the black sheep of Mae's discography (even by the band themselves) but I still love it to this day, and am so happy it's on wax now.
Has a lot of memories for me and i have to be in the mood for it, but I’m glad to have it after 12 years
Loved this collaboration - Dave & some of the guys from Emery. Dave has also been livestreaming Mae sets on Facebook: Jacob has been doing 'Sleep Well' events too. Short conversation and then ambient piano music. Breathtaking in places.
Love love love Saturday nights with his performances. I’ve also after all these years learned to love singularity.
I’ve been hosting Saturday night Zoom meetings with me, a Mae-loving friend, and a third window running Dave’s livestream. The intent was to make it feel like we’re at a show together, but instead it feels like Dave’s actually chatting with us. I’ve started pretending that’s the case and it freaks my friend the fuck out whenever the back and forth starts to get too convincing.
Devin & Toby singing on Embers was an absolute delight. They need to start a band with Matt on keys and drums lol
The Everglow was the first Mae album I ever listened to, and I never bothered to give Destination: Beautiful a full listen until today. Boy do I have egg on my face. This is great.
(M)orning has nailed it for me today. What a damn album(EP). Night/Day is perfection. Listened to (A)fternoon right after and while not quite as good as the former, it’s still great. (E)vening never clicked for me but maybe I’ll revisit that tomorrow.
Evening is my favorite of the trilogy, feels like it captures that Everglow vibe without being repetitive. Plus a great final sendoff before their hiatus
I think (e)vening is my favourite too. I love Bloom and the instrumentals. The closer is beautiful too.
