Not experimental - experiential....multi-sensory-aesthetically in nature lol

I can't read. I read that they had recorded two versions of the album and there were longer intros and outros and just read it as experimental! Ha!

I thought for sure it'd be November since they kept alluding to it being 2 months away. This is great news!

According to the Mae Instagram story, the album is out November 30th. 1975 and Mae on the same day!

New album is coming next month. I just got back from the first mae day in Nashville at Dave's Schematic Studio and it was fantastic. They did an album listening and I have to say, it's incredible. It's a bit overwhelming just hearing it with the band and not getting to listen to it multiple times as these songs aren't just quick easy pop songs. These songs are so layered and deep, instrumentally and lyrically and its just incredible. This album really is a rebirth for mae.

I couldn't imagine being @jeremyfromva and @SLADE775 right now, it's like they're just a few weeks away from the biggest moment of their lives

So for all interested in knowing more, I went to mae day tonight in Nashville. If you're a casual fan of the band, you probably won't get much out of it and just seeing them live will be more fun. If you're a long time fan who loves the band and wants a fully immersive, intimate experience with them, mae day is for you. They did an acoustic set, they talked about the split after Singularity and what all of that meant for them. They talked about the influences of the new album and what the 3.0 is all about. They had dinner and talked with everyone(if you go, everyone will get one on one time with each member of the band). They did a really immersive Light vr session complete with a haptic vest with vibrations and fragrance. They did a full album listening. It was a fantastic experience that is highly recommended for diehard mae fans. It was my favorite musical experience. Those guys are genuine and they truly appreciate their fans and I am actually even more in love with that band than I ever have been.

I got it straight from the band themselves that the official release date is November 30th and they do plan on having a vinyl release, hopefully on that day as well although it may come a bit later

I heard it tonight and while I like the acoustic version, the full album version is way better. I love it

This is what I like to hear. Will definitely be checking this out.
Wow, sounds amazing. No chance that they'll ever bring something like that to the UK but glad they're providing something unique like that for their fans.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. The ep they just put out is called 3.0 and the idea is that this is basically a new chapter in the band. They said tonight that they have a few international shows booked. I actually anticipate a full blown album tour that will go to other countries next year. This isn't just a one and done album. This is the rebirth of mae.

Also I would say that a lot of the songs are similar complexity to 5 Light Years. Lots of complex moving parts. Lots of mini movements inside the songs similar to say the fisherman song. There's one song called The Overview and it features Dave doing basically spoken word verses almost a rap cadence and it's a great driving jam. The album clocks in at I believe 54 minutes is what Dave said

Wow, that is amazing news - genuinely didn't think they'd ever tour the UK again (pretty sure the last time they were over was 2005). Hopefully some of those international shows are here! Fingers crossed. Haven't seen anything announced yet.

  20. Oh I'd absolutely head over to the UK or Europe for these guys. Here for it.

So I’d barely listened to this band before but had been meaning to get more into them... I love bands like Copeland and have also just been getting into Lydia. Anyway, I’m listening to “The Everglow” and this is a fantastic album.

Mae Day sounds super fun, would love to listen to LIGHT in that way. Makes me think of their (a)fternoon tour that I missed when they had multi sensory props for the Fight Song

Really excited to hear the entire album, SING was kinda eh the first time I heard it but I catch myself humming so must have made more of an impression

I'm getting so excited for a new album from this band. I really thought seeing them on their farewell tour (and meeting Dave!) was the perfect ending to things but I'm so glad they are starting a new chapter. So cool to see them genuinely excited for this. I didn't think I'd ever be as excited about them as I was for The Everglow but all the news around this album is changing that. I think The Everglow will always be my favorite album, one of those rare times when the perfect album is released at the perfect time when I needed it.

Now I'm just hoping they add some more tour dates so I can see them live again...

I remember being pretty sad when they did the goodnight goodbye tour and I honestly didn't expect to hear anything else from them. In hindsight, I agree, it was a good time for them to close out l. They had bounced back some with the morning, afternoon and evening eps and all but I've always had a special place in my heart for them. It's a toss up between destination beautiful and the everglow for me just because it depends on my mood. I know the everglow is everyone's favorite but there are certain songs from destination beautiful that hit me in the right spot. And the Evening ep. And this new album is not The Everglow part 2, nobody should expect that but it truly is so much better than Singularity(which I don't think is a bad album, just not a great mae album). It's modern and mature but it still feels mae. It's deep and has different levels and you'll probably have to listen to it several times to just let it all sink in. I know I will. But it is a spectacular album and I'm excited to see what comes next. I fully expect a full tour next year supporting the new album.
