Given “Space” is an instrumental, I’m now wondering if there will be another called “Time.” Light, Space, Time. Could be time for a second EP before album releases. Digging the new songs and this direction for the band. Really interested to hear the full version of “Autonomy.”
According to the track listing we've seen, "Space" won't be on the full album, which I'm hoping for. It's pointless noise and a frustrating inclusion for the EP. I'm thankful we got new music out before Mae's tour, but I'm thinking they released this EP with the sole purpose of having something for fans to hear before seeing the band play these songs live. I'm also excited to hear the full version of "Autonomy," but I'm bummed overall that this EP really only introduced me to one legitimate new song.
Dang I haven't heard the EP yet, but I was hoping Space to be a full song since it's not gonna be on the full length.
I can't wait to hear the full version of "Race for our Autonomy." The acoustic version is so good already. "Sing" was interesting to me at first, but it grew on me fast. Love all the layers in their new music.
I like it a good bit, definitely like the ones I’ve heard before. Appreciate they changed up OLIAPP for this release as well. Could take or leave Space but understand what they’re trying to do with their aesthetic. Ready for the album though
Weird how they list October 28th for the release date of the full length, considering that the 28th is a Sunday
I'm fairly convinced that press release was mistaken. It's too weird that both the 28th is a Sunday AND that the EP released on Sept 28th
Agreed. It’s just weird how they specifically say “October 28th” two separate times. Either way, I’m psyched to have a new Mae full length
Sing was pretty interesting, I liked it. I thought OLIAPP was changed. I was gonna listen to the single release, but then I notice Spotify took it down. From what I remember I liked the original better
Sing was pretty interesting and Let It Die is pretty great. I overlooked it when it first came out. I'm just ready for the full release!
Good interview with Dave about the EP and the new album. Apparently there will be an experiential album and a regular album, will find the quote.. INTERVIEW: Dave Elkins on blending sight, sound, and more for "the best thing that Mae has done"
“There is ultimately two versions of the album that are done. One is the Mae album, and then the other one is the experiential Mae album, so the sequence is a little bit different, some of the songs have intros and outros that aren’t what you did hear when you were streaming the Mae album.“
