Spartan Records is proud to announce the first-ever vinyl release of Singularity, the third full-length release and major label debut from beloved Norfolk, VA alternative rock band Mae. The limited-edition, double vinyl set features three bonus tracks and is now available for pre-order on two stunning variants (‘Rainbow Splatter’ and ‘White with Cyan Haze’). Originally released on August 14, 2007, via Capitol Records, the album was produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Simple Plan, Skillet) and was praised by All Music, which wrote that the LP “sets them apart as pop perfectionists who are able to synthesize bright melodic hooks and rock muscle into a guitar pop perfection that is (yes) singular. This is a lively, octane-fueled, and hook-ridden album that yields up all kinds of power pop delights. Singularity is clear evidence that Mae has evolved into an excellent rock band, one that never sacrifices beauty or songcraft in the face of big guitars.” Pressing Info: First pressing limited to 1500 copies Rainbow Splatter (750) White with Cyan Haze (750) Full-color gatefold jacket printed on reverse board stock. Pre-ordered mine yesterday at 9:58am, when it went live. Didn't care for the rainbow pattern so I got the white with cyan haze. It looks awesome (and very much like the CD version). Can't wait to add it to the rest of them! Really digging that they added the #0 on the cd as the first track on the vinyl. That's how I always had it set up on my iPod anyway. Listened to Mae all day yesterday to celebrate.
Ordered the same variant. Just felt like it represented the album better. Is that weird I thought of that when preordering lol
Not even a little bit. I ordered that one for the same reason. The rainbow splatter just seemed kinda random and the colors they chose weren't all that great. If it was like legit neon rainbow colors, then I might have gone with that variant. The white with blue haze however, looks just like the CD did back in the day which is more nostalgic for me. They could also offer a blue with white haze down the line, as a way of adding another variant.
Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll be using a Privacy app one-time use number for this reason. Really surprised it’s not https. That’s just asked for intruders.
