I had a dream the other night in which I ran into Sydney Sweeney somewhere and told her I loved her in Madame Web, and she responded, “thanks! I don’t believe you.”
The best moments were Dakota Johnson moments, but I dug the three kids and their chemistry a lot. They were written in such a broad, shallow “teenagers with attitude” way that was just heightened enough to work in this schlocky genre flick, and the actors’ genuine connection kept it charming instead of dry. (Well, at least for my tastes; mileage clearly varies on “good bad movies.”) … Oops. I guess I’m not supposed to give sincere analysis of things I enjoyed in Madame Web, lol.
Sweeney seems like she’s intelligent as a businesswoman and has a smart team around her, she’s making a lot of correct moves to position herself as a player in the industry. She’s going to have an increasing amount of leverage soon, especially after Anyone but You
