I’m not saying that superhero fatigue isn’t a thing and playing a part, but it feels pretty fucking stupid to blame that as the major factor instead of the absolute shit writing almost every movie has had recently

Yeah that’s kinda my point. The article only mentions fatigue as being the problem for these studios.

 

Are the Joel Schumacher “Batman” movies camp or just him being an insane director?

 

Is this a sincere question? I feel like Batman & Robin in particular has settled in as a queer camp classic in recent years.

 

To be fair, a lot of the decisions around those films were mandated and beyond his control or intent. Schumacher was unfairly maligned.

This is true. He made some great stuff. And I really like “Batman Forever,” flaws and all. But Schumacher also made “The Number 23” which is garbage with a capital G.

To be fair, besides Endgame, which was just a blast the whole time, I don’t think I’ve had a single theater experience in the last 10 years where I wasn’t annoyed by other people doing something.

 

Hahaha. Yes. He also says the word “Fingerling” a lot. I inadvertently saw that movie twice.

 

I keep forgetting he made "The Lost Boys", which I feel bad about forgetting.

I’ve only ever seen it twice, so it’s not overdone to me.
