My company is being forced to sell two huge beer brands and also as a result going through a buyout/merger with another company. Over these last 3 weeks I’ve just been thinking about this show and how they showed those aspects of business. Making me more calm and stressed all at the same time lol
Since this is now easily accessible on HBO Max I have fully committed to watching the series in full for the first time. When I was in college over a decade ago I gave up during season 2. I think at the time I was hoping for more "violence" as I was obsessed with Breaking Bad. Time changed my perspective as now I'm blasting through the show. Watched "The Suitcase" last night and it lived up to the hype as an all timer episode of television.
I watched Mad Men while it aired, but that was before I got a job in advertising. Should probably give it a rewatch.
Also been wanting to do a rewatch now that I’m in sales and marketing. I think about this show a lot actually in relation to my work.
Seasons 3-4 are probably the best. The first season is stiff and the 6th season is just repeating a lot of stuff.
I have a few episodes left in the first season. It’s good and I’m enjoying it but a lot of it does feel like “hey it’s the 60s isn’t it crazy they’re smoking and drinking all the time??” and the Peggy fat suit/prosthetics is bad.
