@spiffa0 do you know about how they split season seven? Because on Netflix it’s all one long season as season seven, but I think it’s important to know that it’s pretty much two different seasons and where they split. Don’t look up episode details or anything obviously, but the first half ends with Waterloo and then the rest is the final seven episodes. I think it’s best to know that going in.
This reminded me of how Mad Men always made me associate the show with my grandparents on my dad’s side. They lived in Westchester County while my grandpa worked in finances in the city and when I was young, vividly remember their house and Mad Men made me realize their home was forever trapped in 1960s design and aesthetics. I learned after the fact when my grandpa passed in 1999 that he had a girlfriend out in California while married to my grandma and she knew at one point but stayed married to him. My dad and his brother eventually found out. My grandma was a dancer on Broadway with blonde hair when she met my grandpa. They got married, had kids, and she never worked again. So when I see Don and Betty, I see my grandparents.
Kevin Rahm’s portrayal of Ted Chaough is nuanced and honestly brilliant. He doesn’t seem to get much praise out there, myself included, but he’s so damn good. Definitely the best character added in the last few seasons.
This show is a masterpiece. I can't even explain it in a good enough way to do it justice. One of the best pieces of art I've ever experienced. 10/10.
The most "moral" character has to be Megan, right? Unless something happens in season 7. I can't think of anyone else who hasn't done something shitty.
