I forgot how strong the fourth season ended. Episodes 7 through 13 are all straight amazing.

 

I think the show only gets better up until the finale for multiple reasons, but standalone that stretch is definitely crazy elite tier Mad Men glory.

 

I know it's slightly before that but "The Chrysanthemum and the Sword" is a powerhouse of an episode.

I love that he's having a good time talking to the busboy and the dickhead floor manager comes over and Don just puts him in his place.

So the husband couldn't accompany the wife during birth in the 60s?

 

I always took that more as that they don't see the value in being there to comfort and support their wife. It is woman's work to them.
