Machine Gun Kelly has the number one album in the country: Machine Gun Kelly’s Mainstream Sellout tops the Billboard 200 albums chart, as the set enters atop the list dated April 9 with 93,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending March 31, according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data. It’s the artist’s second leader, following his last release, 2020’s Tickets to My Downfall. All told, Mainstream Sellout is his sixth top 10 on the tally. more Not all embedded content is displayed here. You can view the original to see embedded videos, tweets, etc.
Ugh, I can't believe this guy is doing a stadium tour. I remember he was just an afterthought at Warped Tour. For me, he's still just an afterthought!
Think we can file this lovely cover along with these classic covers: And one of my favs! : (this one still kills me every time.)
Has there been anything about him being involved with underaged girls or just making the comments? Genuinely asking as I’m not sure. Unfortunately in the music industry there has been many of them, including ones with number one albums. Some of the world’s favourite artists.
I'm not defending these comments. They're gross, no question about it. But the question was, has he ever been involved with underage girls, and the answer to that is no. I think it's also worth noting his grossest comment was at 19, and he hasn't said anything similar to this since he was 23 despite being in the spotlight that entire time. And he's engaged to someone 4 years older than him as is pointed out in the article. So those are nasty comments, 100% agreed, but maybe we don't need to cancel a guy for saying some stupid shit under the age of 24.
It shows intent. People who sexualise children should not have a platform to act on such comments. You know what my friends and I were doing at 19? Not sexualising children, that’s for sure. Odd hill you’re choosing to die on, but here we are.
By taking it on, doing it his way, and sounding good doing it? What else could I mean? He almost always stayed on pitch which is what surprised tf outta me. This is coming from an OG SOTD fan btw, from the day they released Sugar, but I don't hate MGK just to hate MGK like most of you.
As I stated multiple times, I'm not defending his words. Maybe I'm just more forgiving of someone saying (not doing) stupid things when he was younger. Especially a rapper who may have just been saying "edgy" stuff to get attention.
I don't think people hate him just to hate him. Plenty of people have given valid reasons for their dislike (pedo comments, lack of authenticity, etc)
Doing justice to Serj's vocals would mean performing them almost as good as the original, not "doing it his way". He also barely stayed on pitch, I'm not sure what makes you think he did. You being a System of a Down fan is irrelevant. Most people don't "hate MGK just to hate MGK", all that's been discussed here are valid arguments. Him not being very good at singing (or playing an instrument, for that matter) is just one of them.
