    Assuming that MGK is being sincere when he says he did not know about the original photo, it's cool that he took action right away and is replacing the artwork. I feel like there are definitely artists out there who would have tried to squash the original artist in court or use some sort of "inspired by" defense.

    It’s something like if you change 10 or 20% then it’s not plagiarism. I think the artist used reference / traced the image. They do look very similar, all he has done is cut half the space off with black. Bit with it’s being redrawn it’s likely that they would get away with it being more fan art. In my opinion it’s not a very good drawing or representation of the original any way and he would be better off just using the original photo as it would look better.
