Glad so many people who rely strictly on streaming services are going to finally get to experience this project. His best imo
Madlib just announced he's finishing up the album he made with Mac Miller and plans to release it. cannot wait
The estate confirming that is huge. So fucking excited for that, Circles was a beautiful final project but hearing some new classic Mac raps will be like visiting an old friend
I never thought I would actually see that day that Balloonerism saw an official release, holy shit. It's a mixtape that he made around the same time as Faces that was never released but is leaked in full (the version I have is 70 minutes long) and it's absolutely incredible, some of the most out there and psychedelic music he ever made
some of the leaks are truly incredible from that. curious what tracklist they go with though because it had a fair bit of crossover with Faces. I hope the 11 minute psychedelic rock song makes it that shit is phenomenal
Just for reference, this is my tracklist for Balloonerism that I have: 1. Do You Have a Destination? 2. The Song That Changed Everything (feat. SZA & Thundercat 3. Bob's Dementia (feat. Hodgy Beats) 4. Funny Papers 5. Manakins (feat. Dylan Reynolds) 6. He Finally Sleeps. 7. 5 Dollar Pony Rides 8. Tambourine Dream 9. Friendly Hallucinations 10. Mrs. Deborah Downer 11. Stoned 12. Garden Snakes 13. Yeah 14. Amnesia (feat. Vince Staples) 15. Transformations (feat. Delusional Thomas) 16. Excelsior 17. Tomorrow Will Never Know It's 71 minutes long. I cut the songs that also ended up on Faces (Colors & Shapes, Uber and Rain iirc) but it's absolutely amazing this way
I appreciate how Mac's family is handling his posthumous releases. Circles was mostly finished and they worked closely with Jon Brion to get it across the finish line. Now they're formally releasing music that was already "out there" (Faces + this). Not trying to find gems on his hard drive to throw onto an "album".
MacLib will come one day I know it but full excited for this one I might even do a Mac discography listen today
