Give me all of it! What genre of music would you assign this album? That's On Me feels very Beatles to me.
not ready for this to be over because it's the last real project we'll ever get from him and it feels like it's just the beginning of a new beautiful direction
I’m just a casual Mac fan, but I feel like this is as good of a career-closing album that you could get. It ends Mac’s work on a much more positive note than “Swimming.”
it's really really beautiful and truly feels like a gift. whereas Swimming was much more virtuoso and diverse Circles feels a peaceful, almost meditative kind of an album that's miles away from anything in the pop or hip-hop zeitgeist I can think of. I think it expresses the day-to-day minutae of just trying to be okay and stay alive better than anything I can readily think of
people are pointing out that the synth in "Woods" could be the same as the one in "So It Goes". I can hear it
That's On Me, Hands, and Surf fell pretty flat for me, but the rest of this is great. This is even more "different" than Swimming was, so I'm very interested to see what the general reception to it is. Not a lot of rapping. Really just Mac vibing and showing off his musical chops.
Wow. This honestly is his best album. Can I say that after only one listen? But holy shit this is beautiful. Complicated, Blue World and Hand Me Downs are my early favorites.
