I was upset that I missed their show in Dallas, but after looking at the setlist I know I made the right decision in not spending nearly $100 since they didn't play anything prior to Saturdays = Youth. It would have been fun to see their new stuff though. I wonder if he'll ever play his earlier stuff live. It would be a shame because I've never seen him live and I would love to.
I think I'm finally over being turned off by this album's concept, lots of good tracks. Go, Solitude and Road Blaster are especially rad as all heck.
i think this is an exhausting listen without the pay off of something like hurry up which is totally an equally exhausting record
If you're wondering, we all get now that you liked M83 before they were cool. Congrats! P.S. I'm just busting your chops. I'm glad you've enjoyed their music for a long time.
Growing on me more and more I wish he just never did any interviews ever. Dude needs to stop saying things about the state of music.
yeah its growing on me a lot now too. i think that initial shock of it not feeling M83 was over whelming me.
Honestly not that familiar with the band but I checked this out and found it to very enjoyable. It has an endearing quirkiness about it.
I gave it another listen today and I'm coming around to it. While I'm not sure how I feel about the album as a whole, there are definitely some really good songs on here.
There's basically going to be three camps for this record: One that loves it, one that eventually warms up to it, and one that flat out doesn't like it.
Very true, it just seems to be the case with this one considering how well received the previous records were.
For the Kids is brilliant. You can tell how earnest and sincere he is with this song. It would be easy to write it off as pretentious, especially with the little kid talking and whatnot, but man... it's so, so good.
This comparison gets thrown around with a lot of bands and albums, but I think it's fitting to say that this is M83's "Pinkerton"
