I had no idea this was a thing until it popped up in my Music Harbor. Excited to spend some time with it. December was one of my favorite records from that time.

Hands down the biggest surprise about this release is that Maria Sais de Sicilia returned for the vocals. She's amazing, and though I liked Mindy White she didn't touch the sincere beauty of Maria's vox for me. Past that, I really have to separate myself this from the original in order to enjoy it, and appreciate that it's not meant to replace the original but to add to it as a complete reinterpretation. The original is one of my all time favorite albums and I love how hauntingly beautiful and dark it is, and this managed to retain ... some... of that. A Story For Supper is still great (probably thanks in massive part to Maria).

I like it. It's different. It's stripped down. And I'm still listening to it.

I completely agree with everything you said here. A Story For Supper just hits so differently, in a good way. Plus it is so great to hear her voice again all over this record.

I've been enjoying it too, for what it is. "Illuminate" would be one of my old time favorites, so I definitely appreciate Mindy, but it's so cool to have Maria's voice on that after so many years. I loved the album from the start of course, just haven't returned to it as much after further releases.
