Lydia ‘Illuminate’ Re-Press

Man oh MAN this band had momentum there for a minute.

 

More than a minute, they had multiple classic emo albums. Illuminate being my favorite.

 

This band peaked with Illuminate. Held steady at Assailants and then began a slow decline. Never should have continued the band imo. It would have paid off so much more if Leighton had started a solo career and kept Lydia on the back burner in case a reconciliation with Illuminate line up would ever be remotely possible.

Not saying I wouldn’t take it now, but the direction Lydia has gone in Devil, Run Wild, and Liquor just isn’t my cup of tea.

 

Agreed 100%. Illuminate is very very special.

 

I still find something cool on every single release from Lydia, but well, Illuminate is one of the best albums ever for me, everything just goes hard on that one! Along with the best artwork, but the drums, riffs, haunting piano notes, production, Mindy on vocals with Aaron Marsh making an appearance too. Really hoping to find a copy somewhere near me!

 

Illuminate is definitely their best album, but i loved everything up until Liquor. I really enjoyed IWSE as well but couldn't get into the new song they just released

With that all said, I cannot wait to hear the record start cracking then hear the piano from "This is Twice Now" kick in

 

This comment inspired me to spin this album like mad this work week because it reminded me how incredible This is Twice Now is. Thank you.
