Funny I actually just started getting into this as well as of last week. Blur has the exact same opening riff as a Pavement song, but I can't remember which one.
I always find myself listening to things around the first anniversary of release dates. not always intentional but weather has a lot to do with it, anyway i've been listening to this again
You're not wrong. I think its a sleeper. One of those releases that will get more momentum after their next release.
Still need to spend more time with Hoodwink'd. I've always loved I Feel Extra-Natural but haven't spent much time with that record.
Also make sure you all check out the bands on Double Double Whammy as a member runs the label and they put out some of the best music out there!!!
yeah i definitely didn't listen to this enough for how much i enjoy hoodwink'd. but i bought it on bandcamp a while back and it's gonna be listened to way more. shouts out the existence of cende for reminding me about this
Nothing will beat Hookwink'd but this record is so good. It was a really great follow up, saw them expand their influences and songwriting craft / structure, feel like they gave themselves some room to breath in the songs. Can't believe it flew under the radar as much as it has. Then again, I totally can believe it because people are too busy shitting themselves about overhyped mediocre garbage like Tigers Jaw.
Was wearing my Lvl up shirt with this album cover on it last night at the fair and some dude pointed at it so shout out to him
