i think that speaks to what a whirlwind the last month has been for new music. i'm looking forward to hopefully a quiet end of year to weed everything out.
we gotta get people on this! its like a perfect fall album, all the way down to the album art ha. i dont even know what my favorite song on here is, its just all so great. ive only listened to it twice, but "Five Men on the Ridge" is huge, and the closer is incredible. I also love "Hidden Driver". i think that tracks influences are obvious enough i dont even need to say it, yet it is so original and its own thing.
well yeah, was surprised that even at first this band didn't pull so well because they are pretty embedded in DIY culture even before sub pop signed them
its always boggled my mind how they dont have more listeners. they came to slc in october 2014 w/ mitski and literally 0 people showed.
i was going to post my fav song from hoodwink'd but realized i couldn't pick just one lol if i had to it'd be probably
This is one of those albums where I always want to listen to it from start to finish. I still can't pick an absolute favorite track, just can't stop listening.
HMmm. Incredibly underwhelming set. They played for a half hour, and after a version of "I" went very poorly, they told us not to clap, abruptly said "we have two more" then did two Microsongs from Hoodwinked then walked off without an encore. Everybody but the drummer looked visibly unhappy by the end. Wonder what happened. What they played sounded good at least. They mentioned it was their first night of tour too which is wprrying
decided my favorites on this are hidden driver (most reminiscent of the last record), spirit was (maybe my favorite song of theirs at this point), and cut from the vine good record, still growing on me
"Five Men on a Ridge" and "Naked in the River With the Creator" are both huuuuuuuuuuuge Hidden Driver is the perfect opener. i love this album.
