Really fun when you get to hype something up for months and then it kicks as much ass as you wanted it to

 

the new version of the closing door is sick

 

listened to it on my walk to work. still growing on me.

 

yeah this is how I feel exactly, a lot of shit can crack under the weight of my often unreasonable expectations but this is pretty much everything I hoped for

 

listened to this on my drive along the lake to milwaukee last night and it just made me so damn happy.

 

This record a good entry point for the band?

 

Yeah, this record blew me away. Huge progression.

 

First I've heard from them and I fucking love it. So I would say yeah

 

After hearing this, i can't imagine it coming from any other label

 

I fucking love the high harmonies at the end of "She Sustains Us" so much.

 

All of the song is great, but the first 90 seconds of "Five Men on the Ridge" are so fucking dope. The way it gets so noisy and then just cuts out totally works.

 

Can't believe I'm about to say this, but getting real Eve 6 vibes vocally throughout most of "Naked in the River."

 

At this point I still like the last more but that one took time to grow and I expect the same here

 

hoodwink'd is still superior imo. but thats one of my most played albums ever haha. i still like this though.

 

hoodwink'd is just one charming record. this is a little more mature and sprawling
also if you never listened to spook houses (the pre lvl up band) do that too

 

yes... listen to "search for" . slacker anthem

 

Some good rock n roll right there

 

also if you miss spook houses this is the other singer (not dave's) new band, microphones worship basically

and for even more connection jake from foozle/sitcom worked on the flashlight o album with colin

 

had me at microphones worship

 

Finally just got around to this and LOVED it. Got some real On Avery Island vibes.

This is pretty great

 

should check out the last one, it's more of a collection of shorter pop songs than some of the long sprawling ones of this one but i think it's still superb
