Yeah every time I've seen him he's played Show Goes On (which I still genuinely love) and he's also played Out of My Head every time for some reason

 

relistening to this for the first time in ages and it's still so fucking good. "WAV Files", "Alan Forever" and "Happy Timbuck2 Day" are some of my favourite rap songs of the decade lol. was worth every delay, bad album and bit of label bullshit for those songs

can't wait for Skulls if he's even still releasing it

 

I actually just jumped into an album runthrough the other day, so much material and such long albums haha

 

a full Lupe runthrough? damn I love him as much as anyone but I don't think I could sit through Lasers or Light ever again lol. actually don't know if I ever listened to Food & Liquor Pt. 2 or whatever that album was called either

 

Yeah, this album is absolutely amazing. Probably my second favorite by him at this point

He's definitely working on an album right now, he did a Youtube livestream a month or so back and talked about it some. Not sure if it's going to be Skulls though but I'll take anything

This song is fucking incredible. Dude's untouchable the last few releases

 

But even his lesser albums have some of his best songs, you can't just skip them! Lasers has All Black Everything and F&L2 has Around My Way

 

Think I'm going to try to wait for the full EP to come out since there's so few songs

And yeah, I have a soft spot for every Lupe album, even the weak ones. He's in my top 5 favorite rappers of all time though to be fair lol

 

I'm listening to F&L Pt. 2 right now and it's like really really bad. maybe I'm not in the mood but every song sounds the damn same and the lyrics aren't as clever as he thinks they are, ugh

 

From F&L2 I really enjoy Strange Fruition, ITAL, Around My Way, Audubon Ballroom, Bitch Bad, Lamborghini Angels, Put 'Em Up, Form Follows Function and Hood Now


And just for the hell of it from Lasers I like Words I Never Said, Til I Get There, I Don't Wanna Care Right Now (I feel like this song is objectively bad but it's hella catchy lol), The Show Goes On, Beautiful Lasers, All Black Everything, and if you count the bonus tracks I'm Beamin and Shining Down

 

I liked uhh "Lamborghini Angels" and "Around My Way", that's about it. god the production and Lupe's rapping on this whole album is so sleepy, sounds like he didn't even care about the end result. thank god he bounced back from this era in his career lol

 

I don't go back to the full album, but ya F&L2 had Around My Way, Lamborghini Angels, and Form Follows Function, all of which are top tier Lupe songs for me. ITAL is fun too.

New song is good.

I love it actually, especially Sledom and LF95

 

"SHOES" and "LF95" are alright. I thought the other two were the most eyeroll stuff he's done in a while. but apparently it's all freestyled so I guess I shouldn't expect top-tier Lupe bars from this project. still doubt I'll really revisit it though

 

I loved it.

 

I thought it was really entertaining and have revisited 3-4x in the first few days. His wordplay is so dense that as much as I love a good magnum opus he actually benefits from shorter projects. I remember really liking that pyramid ep from a while back.

 

That herd immunity line on LF95 makes the whole thing worth it

 

oh yeah I agree the Pharoah Heights tape. some of his best rapping honestly, the last song in particular is insane

 

I can see how one might think this EP is gimmicky bc of the voiceovers and the concentrated themes here, but Lupe makes it work here. I love the concept work he’s been doing lately, seems like he’s honed in on developing his craft as an artist rather than just pushing out bangers.
