I watched that movie the other day and screamed of shock/enjoyment when her cover started playing haha

 

She updated her website. The background is VHS static and there's a sign up option for her e-mail list on the front page. I recommend signing up now if you have not already!

This is fucking AMAZING.

 

Curious if the albums gonna be more toned back like this as opposed to Historian. I could be into it, the track was super pretty.

 

I really liked this, but its a weird single choice imo and I dont think id like a full album of it

 

Yeah I think this is immediately one of her best songs. Stunning.

 

Really wish we got an album announcement alongside it but I'm sure that'll be in a week or so.

 

I assume the album as a whole will be much closer to Historian than it is to this particular song

Not that odd of a choice IMHO since it's a song she's played a bunch on tour and a song fans have been anticipating since she started playing it.

 

Casual fan here and first time I've heard it.

 

Ahhh, well to clarify the song has a cult status. She played it live during a bunch of shows throughout 2018-2019 and fans have remarked how good it is. There's also a Twitter that was dedicated specifically to getting Lucy to release the song https://twitter.com/releasethumbs so in this case it was definitely the right song to release first

“Night Shift” is my favorite Lucy Dacus song. And imo one of the best songs of the last 10 years. This is a serious contender to dethrone it.

 

i've never been able to get into lucy but this track is extremely up my alley. i'm intrigued.
