Oh it is sooo much smaller. I'd say it's less than half the size of the Brooklyn location. Plus they no longer have a venue inside. My guess is their lease ended in BK in March, and because of people fleeing the city during Covid they were able to lock in a cheaper price on the Manhattan location. It's right in Rockerfeller Center, so it'll for sure get a lot of foot traffic.
Damn, that sucks on both counts. Makes sense that they'd be able to capitalize on paying less for rent, but it sounds less special for sure. Hopefully, they make out well from the tourists and people working around there.
Finally got around to listening to this today and in the middle of my first listen realized my Spotify was set to shuffle either way, what a record! Lucy is an incredible songwriter.
First listens yesterday and I enjoyed this more than expected (haven’t really got into Lucy Dacus music before).
Ever notice how when you go to an album the big green button has a shuffle icon on it? Biggest complaint I have with Spotify and I don’t think there’s an option to turn it off.
There’s no option to turn it off because having a Play button would be redundant when you can just select the first song, haha. That’s a shuffle play button and is there so you can quickly shuffle an album or playlist without having to manually select a song first so you get a true shuffle. But I agree at least that the button’s design is bad — the play and shuffle icons should be switched
yeah finally got to this, it's really good. not sure there's a single song I like as much as "Night Shift" but it's consistently solid
While I know Triple Dog Dare is about a very specific relationship she had, the story of it just kills me and really hits me as I work through things.
this album is toooooooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooood almost certainly my album of the year at this point i still can’t believe pitchfork called partner in crime a misstep
I guess I don't know if it's universal, but it really is a shame that an album that sounds this good has a vinyl pressing that sounds so bad.
I had the same problem with my Punisher record. Vinyl quality standards are so low these days, makes me hesitant to buy anything.
This absolutely pummeled me. I really respect and appreciate the honesty throughout the whole album. Not really sure what else to say but I really loved this
