I am happy to report that this is very good.

    I do not exist.

On my first listen. Had a little dance with my 3 year old daughter which feels like a special first listen moment.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I completely missed the rollout for this but a few songs in the more orchestral/baroque lean is a really nice surprise, it's a really good fit for her. will always miss her sound on Historian however

wow title track on here is absolutely magical, instantly one of her best songs. that "Ziptie" callback is amazing

did not expect Hozier to show up either but I'm about it

I feel like Home Video didn’t get a ton of love either. I remember being confused that not everyone was enjoying it the way I was. This time around the reaction is even more tepid which I sorta get because it’s a lot of mid tempo tracks but I mostly love it. The Hozier feature kinda takes me out of it just a little though for some reason.

edit: it’s because I think hozier is bad

didn't love Home Video but this is much stronger imo, also surprised at the reviews

Yeah, it's fine. Feels a little flatlined, to be honest. I won't return to this as much as her other albums.

i’ve been meaning to tell you

this album is good, i think all her stuff is a little uneven. talk is easily my favorite lucy song now. also really love the title track, the closer, and the phoebe track. limerence didn't click with me as a single, but it really works in the album context. i think for keeps and come out are the only songs i don't really love.

I think Home Video is a masterpiece so that confused me as well!

Listening now. The singles really grew on me so I’m kind of surprised by the lukewarm reception. Might just be that I really enjoy it lyrically? I’ve never been all in on her solo albums so maybe I’m just missing something, but I don’t really find this that different from anything else she’s done sonically
