Lucy Dacus's new album has debut at number 5 on the UK album chart!!

 

Great to see her doing so well. The tour dates sold out so quickly.

Finally watching the interview, and my takeaway is lesbians/queer women are wild in regards to dating. Katie said her longest relationship was with Naomi, who she is no longer dating and is still in a band with, and Lucy said her and Julien have been together for almost 7 years which would have been when the boygenius EP came out lol

 

thought Julien was dating someone else up until around the release of the record. could be wrong

 

It was a little muffled but Lucy said “we’re approaching seven years” so that would still work if Julien and her previous partner broke up and they started dating later in the year. They recorded this the day after the Grammys because they said they were at the Elton John afterparty the day before.

It was around the 7 minute mark.

I just looked again it may have been “or approaching 7 years” but it sounds related to her current relationship. Don’t think you’d say that about a relationship that has been over but that’s just me lol

 

like how every Hollywood lesbian has dated Kristen Stewart, Stella Maxwell, St Vincent, and/or Cara Delevigne and St Vincent also dated Cara and Kristen

 

There is some degree of separation lol. I immediately thought of Abbi Jacobson, who dated Carrie Browstein, who dated St. Vincent

 

lol, by the record i meant "the record". i think Julien had another girlfriend at the time - Mariah Schneider? i remember hearing they were still together up until around the time the album released, and then shortly after the rumors of Lucy and Julien dating started to pick up

 

Ah ok, maybe I just assumed but that was how I interpreted it lol. I had no knowledge of who Julien had dated before and wasn’t following the band as much before the release.

 

Are you sure she was talking about Julien? I’m pretty sure the person Lucy was with before her was about 7 years. Her and Julien def only started dating about two years ago.

 

Like I said, I probably just misinterpreted it based on her phrasing. She said her longest relationship was "7 years. or approaching 7 years". That to me just is not the phrasing I'd describe the length of a relationship that has ended lol

I am definitely not versed on her background prior to the last couple of years so I am probably wrong.

 

All good, sounds like she was talking about Jacob. It’s especially confusing when there’s polyamory involved lol

We are just talking about what she herself was talking about in an interview. It’s not that serious

 

so excited to watch this!!!!!!

 

Yeah I wasn't trying to start anything about their personal lives lol. As someone who is also lesbian/queer, I thought the answers were funny because the stereotypes about dating are true a lot and then it just turned out I misunderstood and did not know the whole story.

 

I continue to really enjoy this album, it may sneak up behind Historian for me eventually. some truly gorgeous moments here
