The weirdest part is they had a theatrical trailer before Raya, if Disney wants me to watch this illegally I guess I'll have to

 

So 2 sea monsters go above ground and turn into people, and befriend other kids? Sounds good.

 

I don't get the hate on Disney putting this on D+ for free.

Feel like we're at a bit of a no win scenario. Not everyone feels comfortable going back to the movie theaters. Not everyone can afford the 30+ or whatever the premium D+ access costs. So companies like Disney are gonna have to experiment to find what is the best balance between them making money and getting the fans what they want but also still importantly Disney making money.

 

They can make it free and give it a theatrical release like WB is doing

 

All this makes me wonder if there’s still some exec who’s salty about Pixar taking the crown from Disney in 1995 through whenever Disney actually bought Pixar and it wasn’t just a distribution deal (2006, I think?).

 

Hell yeah

 

I’m just realizing that this isn’t coming to theatres. What the fuck.

 

Yeah I’d like to take my kid to this on the big screen. Oh well.

The Pixar movies being released from 2022 on better be getting theatrical releases

 

Time for Disney to build their own theatre in every city.

 

This was very sweet and adorable. I'm not the biggest fan of the character animation style on this, but the story and character work (as well as Tremblay and the "Shazam!" kid) make up for any problems like that. It's a real shame this is just being put out on Disney+ because it would be great in the theater.

 

90% on RT but when you read the reviews it appears to be mid-tier Pixar

 

Honestly though mid-tier Pixar deserves 90% on RT

 

mid tier Pixar is top tier any other studio

 

I loved this so much, it’s just so lovely. I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve seen something that feels this small from Pixar, just a very comforting movie!

 

Watching this now and it’s adorable so far lol
