Damn this album is wild

 

Very good

 

Been listening to this regularly since the leak and it continues to blow me away. Easily my AOTY so far.

 

white horses is quite possibly the best song I’ve ever heard in my life

 

i apologize ahead of time but i am ready to do a low albums ranking

honestly have no idea where hey what ranks yet. every single one of those albums is an incredible work of art btw

 

double negative and drums and guns deserve better

 

smh so does the great destroyer. the dave fridmann era rips.

 

i love the fridmann albums SO MUCH, the great destroyer makes a lot of indie rock redundant for me

 

meanwhile i'm listening to HEY WHAT and i'm like how does this album exist??????

 

maybe too easy but the sound at the end of "All Night" reminds me so much of the sound that comes up throughout "Kid A"

I'm very excited to get the tape I ordered the other day

 

when that low, LOUD buzzing sound comes in and out on "Days Like These" it literally has a physical effect on me, like I'm about to go down a steep drop

 

meanwhile "Don't Walk Away" is like floating. so gorgeous

 

Low have mastered walking this fine line between fresh and accessible while also pushing sound to extreme levels.

Based on what I’ve heard so far, they have no equal in my mind these last few when it comes to marrying experimentation in music with enjoyability.

 

I came across this Esquire feature on Ben Gibbard’s pick of 5 bands that influenced Death Cab a few years ago while on a Low deep dive period and this quote resonates with me so hard.

it’s a common feel I get when listening to a Tim hecker record released between 2006 and 2013

oh yeah I see that. whole thing is very Virgins I think

 

I liked this a lot

 

I can trace a lot of the sonic qualities of this and double negative to a bunch of different stuff between harmony in ultraviolet and Virgins

 

this is my first time listening to Low -- holy shit this album. Don't even know what to do now lol. Gonna listen to Double Negative and work my way backworks/quit my job
