"Always Trying to Work It Out" is possibly my favorite song this year. Cool info there.

This feels like listening to a Godspeed You! Black Emperor album. So much dissonance and creepiness. But it's extremely compelling.

 

This album is intense. Kind of messes with your head. It's great.

Also I love your album art thumbnail.

 

The Snake The Cross The Crown! They were amazing; that album, Cotton Teeth, is one of my favorites. Definitely one of those bands that should have (and maybe would have) been much more successful, if they had just stuck around for a few more years.

 

Agreed, I was so sad to see them go. The documentary they did after Cotton Teeth was really great, along with the CD accompaniment. Cotton Teeth is one of those albums I would kill for to own on vinyl.

I’m assuming the answer is “incredible,” but how is this band live? I feel like I need to see these songs live, but tix are going for $45 resale (compared to $20 originally).

they have a p incredible live reputation tho from what I understand

 

Another album i've checked out based on end of year lists and another one that I wish I had more time with before making my list. Really digging the electronics and how they're used. Really wasn't expecting that when I started listening. I've never been a big Low fan and only really listened to "What we lost...", so I don't know exactly what I was expecting haha.

But yeah. Is good.

 

listening to this now for the first time and yeah, like above, haven't listened since things we lost and this was not what I expected at all. dancing & blood -> fly is cool as hell tho
