Watched the first 6 from S2 today and I already like it better. Episode 5 (A Day, I think? the one where Gus and Mickey just hang out all day) was heartwarming, probably one of my favorite television episodes of the year so far. Can't wait to see how they fuck it up
Have to agree with season 2 being the better one (liked the first a lot too). Mickey definitely got a little frustrating to watch in the last few episodes. I want Bertie to have a spin off.
In the last 10 minutes of the finale where Dustin was stalking Mickey I thought real shit was about to go down.
I watched the first 8 without my gf because I couldn't wait for her to finish work. Then I watched it from the beginning to the end the next day and I also wanna maybe watch it again
Just finished season 2 and loved it. I feel like people want this show to be something it's not. Gus and Mickey are some of the most real characters I've seen on TV, flaws and all. There are tons of other shows that can fill whatever you're looking for but there isn't really anything else like this show. I also find it interesting that some people think Gus is worse and some people think Mickey is.
Also just finished and also loved it. I really liked the first season but this one was just fantastic. Rust and Gillian are both amazing in their roles and I really found myself rooting for them as a couple this season, whereas I didn't necessarily last season (though that's likely the point). The supporting cast is fantastic too, especially Claudia O'Doherty. Not really much to add that hasn't already been said in here but I'm super happy with this show and I can't wait until next season. Love that they're filming already, hopefully we get S3 around this time next year
Sorry for the triple post but holy shit I had no idea Kevin was played by Chris Rock's brother. Looking back in retrospect they have very similar mannerisms at times though
When I did my S1 rewatch a few weeks ago, I didn't know Milana Vayntrub played Gus's ex (I guess I just started noticing her in the past year) and Mickey's friend Shaun is played by Chantal Claret, who's the singer of the band Morningwood
Yeah I can't remember if s1 was similar, but there were way too many episodes that focused solely on Gus/Mickey.
Just finished this. While I definitely enjoyed this season, I'm surprised by everyone on here calling this better than the first. I don't necessarily disagree, I just didn't find much drastic improvements this time around
I'm so pissed at Mickey!!! I know she's screwed up and has issues...but damn girl!! Keep it in your pants!!
I enjoyed this season more. I guess because I'm a romantic deep down inside. I want these two crazy kids to get their shit together and make it work!!
She's very open about her problems and being in recovery, Gus knows this and still immediately has sex with her. If anyone is wrong, it's Gus
Also I really loved when Gus admitted to being co-dependent and super needy, he was starting to feel too annoying to be realistic.
I finished the season. I really like what it's doing. Gilly's performance has particularly become something special, she's incredible at relaying when her self-destructive tendencies or over-defensive traits take over on a dime, and it's so subtle you might not even realize it's happening at first, and it might go away with the next thing she says or it might fester in her throughout the episode, but the battle in her head is something to watch. She's really fantastic in this. In all seriousness, Mike Mitchell has been really great too. I know his character is a little one note and Mitch isn't the most polished or technical actor out there but he's really been a dimensional and interesting character. Of course O'Doherty is just tops, as well.
Mitch's character is pretty one note but his acting was pretty great in the mall episode. I just love Mitch and hope he keeps getting more and more work.
