Don't really know how others did it wrong. He changed the word placement. We demand movie accuracy!

    Actual thoughts:

I expected to like this and to be invested, but I didn’t anticipate how genuinely thrilling it would get. The scene where Lou is hiding in JJ’s closet while her dad searches the house was perfectly intense. Every time I thought we’d hit the highest point, it went a step further. Zigged when I thought it would zag, etc etc

The entire cast was at an 11, but Jena Malone gave a special performance. She was heartbreaking to watch anytime she was on screen.

Ed Harris was completely unsettling. The hair was genius.

Katy O’Brian and KStew absolutely crackle opposite each other. Thought Katy O’Brian was excellent at creating some mystery over how much of her feelings for Lou were genuine and she was just immature vs her using Lou. Also helps the Kristen is doing what she does best. There were so many physical affects she threw in that really worked for me

Jena Malones career is fascinating. Just so steady, also feels like she ages at half the normal rate. Under appreciated at times. One of the best character actors in independent film in the 21st century.

finally got around to this. way more gore than i was expecting and way less jena malones than i was expecting/hoping. kristen stewart and katy o'brian were both great, ed harris' wig was not. overall pretty good!

Maybe the directors cut has Edward Furlong?

    Really liked this!

Honestly was not feeling it at first and felt just kinda rough. Though I really liked how it was leaning into the scuzzy nature of the characters and how broken a lot of them were. Definitely surprised by the gore and didn’t know the Saint Maude director was behind it til now. That tracks. Loved that one too. Both films excel at depicting vomit. The ending was very cool. O’Brian is one to look out for. Hope she lands more roles!
