Damn you just reminded me of what the big reveal is in the season 5 finale, and just thinking about it gave me goosebumps lol.
I really need to start another rewatch soon. It's been 10 years.

 

Gentle reminder that one year from now the show will have premiered twenty years ago and honestly what the hell is that about

I literally started watching the show because the ap.net thread had started sharing all those retrospective articles in the lead up of its 10 year anniversary. 20 years is insane

I'm rewatching this for the first time since it finished. Currently on season 2 and this thread is getting me excited for the later seasons. I'm pretty sure I watched the first 2/3 seasons a couple of times when it was first airing but I've only ever seen the last three once.

 

finished the life and death of jeremy bentham today. so widmore isn't the big bad? this season is OUT THERE. also wtf did kate do w/ aaron before she went back to the island? feels like every episode just opens up more questions.

 

That's the Lost formula. If a new question isn't raised at least once an episode, it's just not Lost.

 

ok the jump back to the 70's and reunification of the group has me completely bought it on season 5.

sawyer becoming a big ol softie and falling in love with juliet is one of my favorite things to happen so far.

Damn, I think these posts have now convinced me it's time for a rewatch.

 

I'm due for one at least to experience Season 5 like I should have the first time. LOST would be one of our weekly family viewings when my brother and I were home from college during weekends, and we managed to be consistent up until that season. For some reason, once we got to it, everyone of us seemed to lose the plot one by one and I think it took a couple months to go through the dozen or so episodes.

 

i watched the first 2 or 3 episodes of s5 and honestly completely lost interest. took like a week and a half break and dove back in and these past few episodes have been some of my favorite of the series.

 

Heads up that s6 also starts off pretty weak but turns it around halfway through the season

 

i hope we get some sort of 4k blu ray release next year for the 20th anniversary. i only have the original DVDs and I don't trust streaming media to stick around

 

I wouldn't expect a 4K release of the series.... ever, the costs to remaster the whole series for 4K release would be ginormous. Blu-ray has already been released, so a re-packaging of that would be more likely.

 

just finished s5 and god damnit i jinxed sawyer. juliet setting off the bomb and fading directly to the lost title screen is a top tier cliffhanger. i'm guessing ben fucked up big time shiving jacob to death. s5 ended up being one of my favorite seasons. it just completely went all in on being super out there. kind of nervous to start s6 as it seems to be the lowest rated of the seasons but i'm cautiously optimistic.

 

Yeah…you’ve now entered the polarizing final season and it might not take you that long to figure out why. I’m in the camp that likes the ending myself, but I’ll admit it’s definitely the weakest season overall for me with the caveat that it’s also got some of the series’ best/classic episodes (Ab Aeterno awaits you). You may or may not have some questions after you’re done. Keep in mind that they released an epilogue in the box set that I believe you can still find on YouTube that will fill in some gaps (like…outright spell them out for you) as well as indicate where the narrative goes forward from there in the future.

 

The last season is good as long as you don't expect an answer for every single question you have. It's about the emotional journey. Just enjoy the ride

 

I finished the first season rewatch last week and really enjoyed it but have no desire to start season 2 for some reason.

 

Final season has some of the series' best episodes, but also a bunch of unnecessary plotlines.

I think the episode "Across the Sea" is the most divisive episodes of the entire series. Some people rank at at the top and some people rank it dead last. Personally, I always wished they took that episode and turned it into it's own spin off show/movie.

 

Across the Sea blew my mind when it aired.
