Anyone got any fun/kinda touristy/affordable-ish suggestions for things to do in LA on a Saturday or Sunday? (We will have a car) My younger brothers and I will all be out there next weekend for the RX Bandits show on Sunday night, but we will have all day Saturday and most of Sunday with time to kill.
I usually go to The Last Bookstore and Grand Central Market whenever I'm in DTLA for a show. You might as well visit Little Tokyo if you're down there. Lots of cool stuff even if you're not into anime etc
The Getty Museum is a good shout, if you’re a fan of art. Huntington Library in Pasadena if you like botanical gardens. That’s driving a bit outside the city.
Good suggestions! Thanks gang. I also think it would be fun to have some edibles and take a city bus tour haha. My two youngest brothers haven't been to LA and they are into filming locations/famous houses and shit, so I think they'd think that would be fun. Also thinking about hitting a Comedy Store show Saturday night.
Academy Museum and Grand Central Market. Go to South Pasadena and check out the Halloween filming locations - Myer's House, Strode House, Hedge. Also check out what's going on at Largo instead of the Comedy Store.
tbh if i'm ever in hollywood for a show the only place(s) I really go are Amoeba (and Northern Cafe for the dumplings, but there's a few of those elsewhere)
If you’re into movie stuff a studio tour is really cool. Griffith park observatory Walking along palisades park then going to Santa Monica pier Check out a night market. Then there’s tons of great restaurants, no matter where you are you could eat very well
75% sure I saw one of my old professors on the subway 95% sure I saw Fred Armisen at the Sleater-Kinney show
if you have a car, def spend the day with a solid playlist driving up the pch towards santa barbara. detours down mulholland drive.
concerts: Sleater Kinney - March 28 Girl in Red and The Beaches - May 30 St Vincent - August 19 Fletcher - October 9 (also going to Anna Akana stand-up April 17)
