https://ktla.com/news/local-news/mu...nts-if-their-child-identifies-as-transgender/ This is so close to us. Definitely an eye opener that even though we're in a relatively safe state not every part of it is gonna be welcoming
I called out of work today. Freeways are fucked during a regular storm I’m not messing with this lol.
Hoping to not have to go to work tomorrow. Stay safe y'all, nows the time to grab any last minute supplies, don't go out this afternoon.
we lost power for like fifteen minutes, which is nice that it's already back but like what the fuck, i was already in panic mode thinking it would be out until tomorrow
And just like that it's back to being sunny. I guess my part of the woods didn't see any flooding. This area had previously burnt but also previously rained so we'd already dealt with any potential mudslides. I was like 50% prepared for the worst and 50% sure we'd be fine haha
anyone have a link to a good area concert calendar? and if you’re feelin especially helpful, feel free to send any general recs. i’ll be staying in k town for a few days at the end of october. first time in LA. thanks!
Not sure how many other musicians or musician adjacent folks are here, but posting here to cover all my bases
Unfortunately due to some health issues my gf and I can’t go to the boygenius show this Tuesday at Hollywood bowl. Trying to sell my 2 tix at face value ($130 each) if anyone’s interested. Open to offers as well. Looks like seats in our section (N2, row 20) are listed for ~$100 on ticket sites
I saw Vagabon a couple days ago and she told everyone to shut up and they kept talking throughout her set. I can't remember if this was such a common problem pre covid. idk why people who want to drink and socialize don't just go to a bar, like why go to a show and ruin it for everyone else Well anyway, aside from that I had a good time. I went to only like six shows this year, whereas last year I went to fifteen. I guess it's a combination of burnout and a lot of my usual artists not being on tour. There were a few shows I had my eye on but I wasn't as familiar with the artist so I decided not to go. I did manage to see Michelle Zauner on her book tour, and Mitski and boygenius at relatively smaller venues.
