What’s funny is I almost texted you when I got to the Roxy and then I decided to check my ticket and was like ooooohhhhhh I’m an idiot
pro tip about the regent, go into the love song bar that's joined next door and get your drinks in there. better cocktails and faster service than the venue bars. they'll give you a plastic cup so you can take it into the show
I wish I could but it’s a week away from coachella and I’m going to be balls deep in production rehearsals, so can’t risk it
I’m dragging my friend with me next month to do a day trip to LA and I’m pretty hyped. I told them I at least want to see Round Two and Supreme store. I also hopefully want to check out a cool comic store.
I have an extra ticket to see the Movielife at the Roxy on 3/31. I'll happily sell the ticket for $20 or a couple of drinks at the bar if anyone is interested.
Just a warning in here to anyone who goes to shows alone, or has friends that do (especially female-presenting friends): I was at the Regent alone last year to cover The Maine and one of the venue bartenders put something in my singular glass of wine. (I have a high tolerance for alcohol, he turned away from me to pour it which I stupidly thought nothing of before drinking, and I almost passed out before their set ended/have zero recollection of how I got home.) I have no other info I can lend, just a reminder to folks to be careful out there.
I'm reasonably sure I got myself out of there (speaks to my personality type, I'm great in a crisis and used to being 100% self sufficient) without anything happening to me so I'm okay (more or less) but I just had to mention it. I like the venue otherwise, but I'm definitely never ordering a drink for myself there again.
