A co-worker of mine just moved right near there so I get a free spot whenever I go, and just have to lyft/uber now. YAYY. I liked the venue a bit more this time around than the first time I went. Still, some really bad annoyances, mostly with staff.
Nice. The bar was probably my only interaction with staff and it went smooth, but I'll keep my eye out next time I'm there for Caspian.
Teragram made me the worst old fashioned ever and it was $12. That's the only negative thing I have to say about that place.
my first experience i'll let slide because it was like, month one of being open. I went for Anthony Green the other day and went early for the VIP (check in at 6:30), got there at 6 and there was a line. Zero people from the venue, so we walked down the line and asked if it was VIP, people said yes, so we stood in the back. 6:15ish I walk back to the front of the line, still no one working from Terragram, line still not moving. Finally at like 7:25 the line starts to move for about 20ish people, then stops. Ok, so I walk to the front AGAIN, zero people from the venue there, I ask the people now in the front of the line who say they are NOT for VIP. I quickly rush back and grab my two other friends, go to the front of the line and go inside, about a minute from check in. Everything else was fine, but get someone to work the fucking door if there is VIP and regular, or put up a damn sign for two lines
I know its very last minute, but would anyone want a free pair of tickets for Band of Skulls tonight at the wiltern? I'm not gonna go anymore and don't want them to go to total waste! They're hard tickets though so you'd have to pick them up.
I went to the Roxy to see the Spill Canvas and I realized the last time I was at the Roxy was in 2007 to see Jesse Lacey and Kevin Devine and I wanted to cry because that was nine years ago.
Going to The Forum for the first time on Sat. I always think I've been to a lot of venues, then I realize I haven't even been to some of the bigger ones ha.
I went to the Forum for the first time a few months ago for Brand New and Modest Mouse and no one could direct me to my seat like I got sent back and forth four times before I finally found it myself and the rows are so close together you literally have to stand up for anyone to get by. Thank god I was on the end of the row so I could just turn to the side. :D Pretending to cheer is so awkward lol.
Four times?! That sounds frustrating. Ya the rows were uncomfortably narrow. We asked someone where our seats were, and it took her a minute, but she pointed us in the right direction, thankfully. We were at the end of a row too, but we walked to our seats from the opposite side initially. It was slightly embarrassing saying "Sorry, excuse me" to like 10 people in a row ha.
Went to The Regent for the first time last week and honestly loved it. The floor is angled down so everyone can see well, the stage looks amazing, sound was great, nothing bad to say
I've only ever been to The Wiltern and The House of Blues years ago, and The Roxy and The Novo this year. The Roxy was my least favorite, it's the smallest and the only elevated section was for VIP--I had tall people blocking my view for most of the show.
Ooh I'm gonna rank my favorite venues that I've been to Wiltern = Hollywood Bowl > The Forum > Music Box >>> Rose Bowl
Troubadour > Hotel Cafe > Hollywood Forever > El Rey > Greek > Ace Hotel > Mayan > The Regent > Fonda > Palladium > Belasco > Forum > Observatory > Wiltern > Echo > Teragram > Staples > Roxy > Echoplex > Novo
