Secrets From a Girl video was really cool. I've been listening to the album like twice a day lately - partially because I'm seeing her in 11 (!!!) days but mostly because I really do love it and it's the perfect time for it as we're moving into spring weather. I also think the bonus tracks added some needed context and variety.
I’m selling two pit tickets for the show in Detroit on Tuesday. $100 each. Let me know if you’re interested.
The show tonight was incredible. Super cool stage set up, great job with the setlist. She’s masterful at making you feel like you’re old friends catching up. No complaints (except maybe that she didn’t play The Louvre)
Did she significantly mess around with the feel of her older songs so they’d feel more Solar Power-esque?
Nah she just switched the vibe up to match those. The only song she really changed up was Dominoes by doing it with a piano instead of a guitar
Man. I really don't know if Solar Power is that "meh" or if it just happens to follow two of the best pop records of the last decade, but the drop in quality is pretty jarring. It's rare for me to be this indifferent about an album made by an artist I love.
Great energy the whole show last night, but man do those Melodrama songs still GO OFF! (Also “Team” for the first time since 2018!!)
I have mixed feelings. I definitely would've taken the Louvre > Hard Feelings, and Team is great too, but it was also pretty cool seeing Hold No Grudge - feels like something that will not happen again outside of this tour
It’s the Melodrama songs I’m most excited for. I saw her in 2018 and it is still the best show I’ve been to.
i hold the melodrama tour in as high esteem as just about any of the hundreds and hundreds of shows i’ve been to and this one might be better. at the very least comparable, which feels like a huge achievement in and of itself
Team is back in the set! So stoked to see her on Tuesday edit: realizing this has been discussed for the last whole page. Still stoked though haha
Show tonight was great, Solar Power songs worked pretty well for the most part, which I was worried about. Some of them hit in this setting much better than they do on the record. One of the flat out coolest set designs I’ve ever seen.
That was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. The solar power songs actually clicked with me, which I never really thought would happen. Absolutely incredible (and agree the stage is fantastic)
Been listening to Solar Power a bunch since the show the other night and it's hard to believe 3 days ago I would've said I didn't like this album
