I don’t think there’s anything wrong with caring, but I don’t think Lorde does, which good for her. I continue to deepen my appreciation for the record and I think it’s gonna get a lot of retroactive love down the line.
I mean she literally didn't sell CD's of it, I know obviously that's not the main source of numbers nowadays but definitely shows she doesn't overly care about the numbers in general and just wanted to enjoy the music
Yeah, I'm very much in the camp of 'this album isn't for me', but she's made enough money off her first two albums (I assume) to be able to continue her career and as far as I'm concerned, she can do whatever she wants from a musical perspective.
She's essentially already said she doesn't care about the money. This was part of her response when asked about not selling cds and the music boxes not counting towards the charts: “zero anxiety about it... But I’m sure there is someone with a spreadsheet somewhere, who can point to the ways in which I’m making less money. I have more money than I could ever spend in my life. I own a home. I own some lovely rugs and great furniture and can buy whatever I want at the grocery store. Like, we’re good on money.”
More famous people should strive to be like Lorde, I find it very refreshing to have a worldwide-know pop star who lives a normal life
I mean i highly doubt she lives a normal life hah but i get what youre saying. just someone who is super humble about their massive success.
not 100% normal, sure, but she is one of the very few artists who disappears from the public sphere between album cycles, doesn't have papparazi follow her in NZ, etc. Aside from releasing music and touring, it really does feel like she lives a pretty "normal" life, whatever that means
i mean, through her interviews you can tell she lives pretty close to the furthest thing from a normal life. she also just happens to not live the life of a celebrity. both can be true.
still at least 4 more videos coming from this album, I wonder if it's going to be released as a full film length thing eventually, or at least a full story
