May be cheesy, but my now wife bought me a bottle of orange juice and wrote "we're getting good at this" on it a few years back haha. I have it sitting in my studio. Fucking love that song.
The polarity of opinions on Homemade Dynamite is interesting to me because that's the song that sounds the most like Pure Heroine—personally I love it
i'm in love with the little piano bit that comes in when shes sings "but when we're dancing i'm alright" in perfect places. so many little things about this album i adore.
Honestly that's more of surprise out of nowhere analogy rather than being offensive. Like obviously it's offensive but it's so random that my first reaction is like "the fuck?"
So I have Hashimoto's disease and it's been crippling and frankly I just don't have the energy to get worked up over something so random. Lorde clearly didn't mean harm with that comment. It's a non-story.
I'm not surprised by those numbers. It's a decent showing from a pop artist who disappeared for 4 years and only had one huge hit before (I guess Team was pretty big too). I don't think Green Light is really on radio or anything. I doubt she's sweating it. She's still playing huge festival slots and arena shows. Plus she's getting almost universal acclaim it seems, which means she has longevity. I've also seen way more conversation about this album in general than any album in a while.
She seems pretty humble I doubt she's worrying about numbers, she just seems happy that people are loving it
Yea this was definitely an album created for herself and her fans, not to sell big numbers. She strikes me as an artist who is much happier that everyone is in love with the album (I say everyone because I"m honestly not sure I've seen anyone say anything less than that they think the album is good, and most say it's much better than good).
Just wow. I never really gave Lorde a chance before, mostly because I never "got" Royals. Decided to check this album out and I love it! There's basically not a single song I dislike on it. Now I have to get tickets to her show in Stockholm...
I just got presale tickets for both the Milwaukee and Chicago shows. Gonna wait until closer to the dates to see which night is more convenient and sell the other.
Aw my friend got us some tickets to the Chicago show (I think floor seats). Very exciting to have 2 Lorde shows lined up now.
got upper levels but towards the side of the stage row c in milwaukee. pretty happy about that, don't feel the need to be on the floor. was still super expensive, like $70/ticket, but i cannot wait. i think it'll be worth it.
