I have to say as someone who, without a doubt, considers Pure Heroine a top 10 album, this exceeded all my expectations. It has everything. It is sorrowful, sad, exhilarating, lonely, sexual, numb, jubilant, and brutally honest. It really reminds me why I fell in love with music in the first place. That mini-hiatus was well worth it. This album is special and I can't wait to grow with it.
I listened to this on my drive in this morning and lost focus around Hard Feelings/Loveless, but now I'm listening again and holy shit that's a great song(s). Is it too early/too bold to call this the best pop album of the decade?
It's been said, but Perfect Places is such a good closer. I feel like it ties all of the themes and even sounds of the album up in a really nice way and ends on an optimistic note, providing closure to a lot of the emotions and struggles she sings about on the album.
im already playing the shit out of this. after a few more listens in, liability (reprise), supercut, hard feelings/loveless are so fucking good. plus the singles still stick too. god, im so happy i preordered the vinyl. it will be played all summer.
After my 5th time playing through this record I am absolutely enamored with it. I don't want to call it AOTY or the best pop album ever because it's been out for less than a day, but it gives me a really special feeling, and I think it's going to be very special for me throughout the year and beyond.
This album is absolutely phenomenal front-to-back. Hard to say any one song is my favorite, but gun to my head - Hard Feelings.
so my current favorite thing to do is sing the chorus of Writer In The Dark over and over again in a shrieky falsetto.
This album is everything right now, really needed this. Perfect timing considering I've been going through some heavy shit.
I honestly did not expect much from this after Green Light, but this album is incredible. Supercut just fucked me up
Ribs will always be my favorite song of hers, but Perfect Places creeped up into a solid second place. I love it so much. Other faves are the Louvre and Sober
