Yea this is real good, and I find it weirdly enjoyable that she isn't really afraid of swearing for being a pop artist. And it's not like overly done either, so it just feels real.
Oh and "they'll hang us in the Louvre - down the back, but who cares, still the Louvre" made me smile
Really really liked this on first listen. Pure Heroine is probably my favorite debut pop album from the last 5 years and the direction this moves in is fantastic.
Fuck, this comes out tomorrow! Gonna be one of those "get looked at funny for being the chubby bearded guy dancing on the bus on the way to work" days. WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE.
I am very excited to listen to this in the morning. I've been spinning Pure Heroine a lot over the past 24 hours, and I really love that record.
Lollapalooza this year and both the Milwaukee and Chicago dates next year are all on evenings I have class.
I decided to stay up and listen to this tonight. It's too late and I'm too tired to give any real thoughts, but it was certainly one of the most interesting first listens I've had all year. I'm already excited to revisit it again in the morning.
I really like this a lot. She has such a knack for writing catchy, anthem-sized pop with just the right amount of quirk. Hard Feelings, Supercut, The Louvre, and Green Light are the early standouts for me.
Wow, what a first listen. I'm blown away. Homemade Dynamite and The Louvre haven't clicked with me yet, but I'm going to spend so much time with this album so I don't care! A few callbacks to Pure Heroine made me smile. The second half of the album is so vulnerable, I almost felt like I was intruding on her thoughts when listening to Writer In The Dark. This album is stunning and I'm so happy.
