Macro beers can be good, depending on how stringent you are with the definition of 'macro' and 'craft.' I think Stella is fine but not too much of a go-to for me.

Just to piggy back on this for Chase:

Macro is a bad word here but for countries with beer cultures that are hundreds of years old its a completely different climate

The new American beer culture has had alot of experimentation and has yielded some great stuff but also plenty of breweries that seemingly have no idea what theyre doing too. Seriously theres a lot of really bad stuff going on here too.

Meanwhile the experimentation of Belgian brewing is the most unprecedented.

 

You're pitching hard for Stella. It's fine, but it's not mind blowing. I'd rank it substantially behind something like Pilsner Urquell.
